So you've all heard about the drama with the Annie Leibovitz shoot with Miley Cyrus. The fact that Miley feels bad after the fact is too bad, as I think the photo was respectful and did not cross a line to indecency. A guess public opinion will sort this one out. Maybe Disney had a problem with it as well and she thought about the shoot afterwards and wasn't comfortable. Interesting that the controversial image was one that shows less skin and is less vulnerable than if she wore a bikini. I would be curious about this discussion in Europe where people are not so uptight.

 

Moving on, what was pretty cool is Vanity Fair has some behind the scenes images of the shoot. If you always wondered how Annie lights her subjects, this gives you a pretty good idea. Simplicity is the key, using only a single light and shooting this outdoors with a simple background.
