The previous day we strolled around the block and took a look at the Saint Alphonus church in the Garden District. This church rivaled any we had seen in Europe with beautiful stained glass and altar. Around the corner we came along a house that look to be straight out of a horror movie. Completely dilapidated and overgrown with trees. There was some thought that someone may still be living in it as their were levelor blinds in windows on the upper floors. We then went to the French Quarter and enjoyed the music along with the arts and music, with a fantastic dinner at Irene's on St. Phillip Street. Tommy Lee, of Motley Cue fame, was filming a reality show in the quarter as well. Seemed totally scripted, but it was interesting to see the 3 camera guys and support staff going through the motions.
This morning I took some time to go to Community Coffee and then spent about an hour in Lafayette Cemetery. I walked all the rows and looked at each tomb, just enjoying the stroll and cool breeze with birds in the background. My Mom and I had taken the same walk through here back in 2004, so it was nice to relive that memory. I talked with Rosanne about coming down again, not for a festival or Mardi Gras, but just to spend a week shooting and traveling through the area. I think we would bath enjoy a trip just to shoot down here. Even though the Nikon 52S did it's job, I kick myself for not bringing a better camera. Enjoy the snapshots. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
